Makina and Cantina are joining forces to launch a four‑week mainnet $100,000 security challenge that will stress-test Makina’s advanced DeFi execution engine. Participants will engage with production contracts supporting atomic execution, and cross‑chain strategies spanning 4 or more EVM chains. Researchers who disclose vulnerabilities in‑scope and execute valid exploits via Cantina’s controlled infrastructure will retain recovered assets.
This challenge offers a chance to test what happens when complex strategy execution meets real liquidity under adversarial pressure. More details below.
Participation and Eligibility
Researchers must register via the Makina CTF portal, complete KYC verification, and accept Cantina’s Terms of Service.
After approval, participants gain access to scoped deployment contracts, and documentation. All testing must occur through Cantina’s environment. Exploits outside that framework are not eligible for rewards and may prompt action by Makina.
This setup protects the integrity of the challenge, ensures clarity, and aligns incentives across participants and submissions.
Strategic Context
Onchain strategies are only as effective as their execution layer. Makina changes the game by making strategy execution non-custodial, risk-controlled, and instantly reversible -across 120+ pools on 4+ chains. Welcome to programmable capital.
This challenge aims to validate these capabilities under live conditions. Researchers will face real cross‑chain execution, management of concentrated exposures, and safety guardrails in action. This is not theoretical testing; this is applied risk, in motion.
Challenge Scope
The scope includes core components central to Makina’s execution engine:
- Machine contracts responsible for deposits, withdrawals, share pricing, and cross‑chain coordination
- Caliber modules executing across hub and spoke chains
- Bridge adapters and controllers managing cross‑chain messaging and asset flow
- Registry, Factory, Risk Management layers enforcing exposure constraints and diversifying portfolio risks
Full contract lists, commit hashes, and live deployments are hosted on Makina’s GitHub core and periphery repositories. Trivial vulnerabilities will not meet reward criteria. Preference will be given to findings with systemic impact, exploitable risk, or economic severity.
Security Without Abstraction
Makina brings together cutting‑edge execution logic, and atomic unwind mechanisms. Cantina has validated high‑assurance protocols like Aave and Euler under similar live conditions. Those challenges yielded outcomes not through simulation but through direct, adversarial pressure.
This CTF offers strong alignment with Makina’s mission: performance, control, and safety in live strategy execution.

Raising the Bar
Makina is defining a new category of interaction across DeFi. A non‑custodial platform where atomic execution, cross‑chain reach, and AI‑driven strategies converge under risk‑managed boundaries.
